TIME AROUND THE HOUSE

Aunt Tausha loves her little namesake Tausha "Jazlin" and sent her this absolutely adorable outfit. Paul was so thrilled that his sis sent this he just had to dress her up. Thanks again for the outfit Tausha! (11-2-09)
--
Jaydon loves his little sister so much and is very good at picking up any crumb he sees on the floor just in case Jazlin might try to eat it. When he says prayers, he'll say "and Jesus I love Jazlin. I love her. I love her. I love her soooooooo much. She's so cute. She's the best baby....." and he'll just keep going until we prompt him to say something else. He loves rubbing his head on her tummy to make her giggle and she loves all the funny faces he makes. I can tell they really have a special brother sister bond. I have a feeling he's going to be her little protector. (11-6-09)

Jeran petting Bentley. Bentley (Tracey and Nicki's dog that lives with Grandma Welling) got to stay with us for several days when Grandma went out of town. He gets lots and lots of attention at out house. I thought it was great that Jaydon wanted to take him on walks twice a day. He'd come back in after a walk and say "Bentley and I were pretending we were squirrel hunting". Bentley didn't seem to mind going on Jaydon's imagination train. (11-6-09)

Jeran and Jordan got sick for almost a week with some sort of flu (maybe the swine flu?!?), so to prevent the other four of us from getting sick I quarantined them to my bedroom with lots of videos. They thought that was pretty special (usually I don't let them go in my bedroom too often) for the first couple of days and then they started to drive me nuts coming in and out for the duration of their sickness. This time it actually worked and the rest of us didn't get sick. Hallelujah for dogging that bullet. (11-6-09)
--
On Saturday, we decided to let them go outside and get a little vitamin D, so daddy spent the morning building them a sand pit. As you can tell, Jordan (in front), Jeran, and Jaydon were thrilled to just get outside some. (11-7-09)
--
This saucer is Jazlin's favorite toy. We bought it a couple of months ago and I am so glad I did because I love knowing she is not going to get ran over by the boys when I have to put her down to switch the laundry. She laughs and gets excited when I put her in it. I love all the ba ba ma ma noises she now makes all day long. She also does an old man face where she tucks her bottom lip in. Paul can get her to do it and it's quite funny. (11-7-09)

IT' WAS A BEEAUTIFUL HALLOWEEN

Our "little pumpkin" Jazlin was too cute when we were putting up decorations for Halloween. We got a good laugh at how much her hair matches the pumpkin (10-24-09). She started army crawling a few weeks prior to setting up decorations, but really went for it when I put up a Halloween Plastic Door Covering. The minute I put her down she'd pull herself over and start pulling at the plastic until she'd rip some off. I would come in and say "no no no" and shake my head and about a week after Halloween she learned how to shake her head back at me when I'd say "no no no". Now it's a fun game we play.
--
Doesn't she just melt your heart. Seriously?!?
--
Our Monday night Family Home Evening was to carve the pumpkin. Paul asked me why I didn't get one for each of the boys to carve and I didn't answer his question. In the midst of carving he said, "I'm so glad you didn't get one for each of the boys to carve". And once again that is why mothers know best.
--
Jordan is such a cheese ball. Speaking of being a cheese. Lately, when he'll say "mom" and I don't respond, he'll put his hand to his mouth like he's holding a blow horn and make the noise "doo da doo". If I don't respond to that he'll bring up his other hand, like he's playing the flute, and make and even more dramatic noise of "doo da doo". He always gets my attention with that and I think half the time he forgets what he was wanting because I start laughing.
--
Jordan, Jeran, and Jaydon helping daddy put crystal balls in the pumpkin. Of course Jordan kifed a few of the balls (with his obsession with small balls) and held on tight to them for several days.
--
Jaydon, Jordan, and Jeran showing me their completed pumpkin.
--
We took it outside and lit a candle in it. The boys started to pretend to be ghosts after that by putting pillow cases and their blankies over their heads. They have been playing ghost ever since. The funny thing is they will keep their blankets over their heads no matter what, even if that means running into doors or falling over stuff. I get a really good laugh when Jeran and Jordan come walking out of their bedroom in the morning with the blankets over their heads and are still dazed and confused from waking up, but they are determined to be ghosts.
--
Me, Jordan, Jazlin, Jaydon, and Jeran. If you figured it out, Jazlin was the flower and the boys bees. On Friday, all the merchants on main street gave out candy and we had more than enough fun going around with Grandma Welling to all the stores. I had more than a couple people tell me my kids were their favorite outfits of all.

Grandma and Jazlin.
--
The next day was Halloween, so in the after-noon we went over to Grandma Wellings' to make Halloween cookies. As you can tell Jeran, Jordan, and Jaydon had a blast decorating. Two bites here, one sprinkle there, and frosting all over the shirt was their recipe for fun!
--
Jordan, Jeran, Jaydon. After naps, we took the kids down for a trunk-or-treat at our church building. I thought the kids got too much candy from the downtown deal, so I mixed that in with ours to give away. I handed out candy while Paul took the kids with him to do their trunk-or-treating. I was too generous with my candy with the first kids that came through that I started to run out of candy, so I started to give away some of the kids trunk-or-treat candy. When Paul saw me giving away the kids candy (even though he knew they couldn't eat 1/4 of it) he started to give me grief saying I broke the Halloween cardinal rule; which apparently is "get more more more" and don't share it. He made me close up shop and we went to McDonald's and then out for real trick-or-treating. It was such a nice night and the kids had sooooo much fun. This was the first time the twins have gone door-to-door, so we had to keep hold of Jordan's wing because he wanted to go into everyone's house and Jeran (being the little assertive bugger he is) wanted to be the leader and didn't want to hold mommy or daddy's hand. So, in the end we satisfied Paul's childhood love of "more more more" and have way too much candy. The funny thing is is that he is not one of those parents that eats their kids candy when they're not looking. I don't even think he ate one piece. I bet the candy lasts till next summer...
--
Paul, Jaydon, Jordan eating candy, Jeran, me and Jazzy. Our last place to trick-or-treat was Grandma and Grandpa Wellings'. We are neighbors and out in the boonies a bit, so I think we might have been their only trick-or-treaters besides cousin Thayne and Ashton. We really had more than enough fun this Halloween and I think this will be one of those holidays we'll always remember.

JAYDON IN KINDER CAMP & SWIM LESSONS

I decided to do pre-school at home this year and enroll him in Kindercamp again (since he loved it so much last year) and swim lessons. Plus, he gets to do story time on Fridays. He's a pretty lucky dude getting to do something every day. And it works out perfect for me because Kinder-camp and swim lessons are at the Rec Center, so while he's doing his thing I get to teach my water aerobics class or just work-out. The first session of Kindercamp they focused on colors of the rainbow and did a color a day. His favorite days were when the teacher (Miss Ali) brought ice cubes of different colors and they melted two together to make a new color, the trip to the dentist office, playing with different colors of homemade play dough and getting to take it home, and the Halloween party day where they went trick-or-treating to the different offices in the Rec Center. He love love loves swim lessons. I think if they offered that every day, he might just want to go. He did so well at his first swim lesson that they moved him right into level two; which he excelled at. He is now in level 3. Paul found a pair of goggles for him and he thinks he's the coolest in the kingdom wearing them to his lessons. I'm quite proud of how he's been maturing this year.

Jaydon made a balloon pig on pink day (10-12-09)

Jordan, Jeran, and Jaydon always have a snack when we get home from the Rec Center. Jazlin has a mommy snack. Jeran and Jordan love to pick up Jaydon from Kindercamp, but they got a little wild one day and we were asked to not go in the class room before 11 am to pick up Jaydon. I sometimes feel like I am apologizing left and right for those two.

Jaydon has the goggles on and although he does well at swimming, he does not do well at getting out of the hot tub. He is always the last to get out with a lot of prodding from his teacher. (10-29-09)

GRANDMA LALIBERTE AND KAYLEE MOVE TO TEXAS

My mom, Greg, and Kaylee moved to Houston, Texas on October 24th. We had them over for dinner a couple nights prior before they left. They got married in April and Greg lost his job here in town in July. He found another one a couple weeks prior to their move.
--
We are really going to Miss Kaylee. She's such a great aunt to the boys and Jazlin. She bonded with Jaz and loves to hold and cuddle her. Since she comes over after school every Tuesday and Thursday for the last couple of years she knows the routine. She helps get the kids their snacks when they wake up from their naps, help turn on cartoons for them after they bath, and she loves loves loves to cook with me. I always try to make something with noodles in it since that is her favorite. I've already had a few good cry's about it, but they did get her a cell phone so she can call and talk to me when she wants. The boys have asked about her several times since the move and I've had the thought several times that she'd be walking in the door any minute. I told my mom she'd better bring her for a visit in the summer time. It just really sucks to move all the way back from Hawaii just to have my mom and sister move away a couple years later.

MIRIAM AND CHAD KRAMERS' WEDDING

My dear friend from High School, Miriam Pope, got married on October 10th down at Memorial Park in Utah. Paul, Jaydon, and Jazlin accompanied me while Grandma Jenkins watched the twins. Grandma didn't even look tortured when we picked them up. Hooray for that! Miriam looked beautiful and most of our crew of gals from H.S. were able to come. Plus, I have to admit I was hoping to see Mandy's new baby boy and she did bring him. What a cutie! I almost thought Miriam might be the wild horse that could never be tamed, but Chad was the man to rein her in and get her to marry him. That must mean he is one spectacular kind of guy. I really do wish them the best. Miriam is one person that deserves a happily ever after. She's definitely made a huge impact in my life, being the first person to really befriend me when I moved to Evanston towards the end of High School. I try to say 'hi' to people I go by because that meant a lot to me during that time. And I know a simple 'hi' can sometimes turn into a great friendship.

Rachel (Miriam's little sis), Miriam, and Chad getting ready to cut the cake. He was so nice to her. Paul tried shoving the piece of cake in my face at our reception...but he got it too. Paul cannot be romantic in front of people. He turns a nice shade of cherry.

This is seriously how they are.
